Shannon Bledose

Vice President, Operations

As VSI’s Vice President of Operations, Shannon is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to US- and field-based program teams. She has lived and worked throughout West and Central Africa and the Caribbean, and has more than ten years of experience developing and managing international health projects.

Shannon is passionate about women’s health and has spent much of her career using social marketing methods to improve health outcomes for women and their families. Prior to VSI she designed and implemented a wide variety of programs that reduced barriers and promoted access to essential health products and services. Most recently she led a large platform in Haiti where she significantly expanded the organization’s funding base and led evidence-based program design which included the development of strategic communication campaigns and effective private- and public-sector distribution strategies for a range of health interventions. Shannon’s international development career began as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon.

Shannon holds a Master of Arts in Gender and Development from the University of Melbourne, Australia and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego.
