From 2008-2015, VSI was a nonprofit private foundation dedicated to increasing access to essential medicines and services for women and girls in developing countries. After years of successful programs that elevated the importance of medicines in support of women’s health, VSI closed its operations in March 2015. Although the organization itself closed, this important work will continue through our partner, the Bixby Center for Population, Health and Sustainability at the University of California, Berkeley.
In order to support the continued efforts of organizations working in maternal and reproductive health, VSI has made available an archive of resources for public use. For more information on VSI and its history, including access to additional resources not held in the VSI Archive, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and refer to VSI in the subject line.
VSI owes a huge debt of gratitude to our programmatic partners, our field teams on the ground, and to all those who supported our mission and organization. We are grateful for the support of each of our donors and for the many partnerships over the years that have enabled us together to make such important contributions to the health of women and girls worldwide. VSI is proud to have played a role in this important and groundbreaking global health effort and we look forward to a day when all women and girls can lead healthy, vibrant lives regardless of where they live.
